Preservation Week @ your library launches

The American Library Association launches its first Preservation Week @ your library today. The theme is Pass It On: Saving Heritage and Memories.

ALA encourages libraries and other institutions to use Preservation Week to connect our communities through events, activities, and resources that highlight what we can do, individually and together, to preserve our personal and shared collections.

ALA and ALCTS (Association for Library Collections & Technical Services) recognize the importance of preservation.

ALA and ALCTS have made available a toolkit for librarians interested in celebrating Preservation Week. It includes program ideas and downloadable materials.

Here is a list of Preservation Week events throughout the country. Feel free to add an event to the map.
